Lake Nakuru National Park protects the shallow alkaline Lake Nakuru and its surrounding grasslands and forests. The lake is world-famous for the multitude of pink flamingoes that adorn its shores, earning its description as "the greatest bird spectacle on earth." The park is also a rhino sanctuary, home to both black and white rhinos, as well as lions, leopards, buffaloes, and over 400 bird species. The park's scenic viewpoints offer superb photo opportunities of the lake and surrounding landscape.
